Why not just have fun today?

Yes, a lot of work on this project!! But... If the goal was to build a recreational eVTOL, why not just have fun today?

Bom dia, Macelo, meu nome é Rommel Castro.

Dear Marcelo, hello.

My name is Vova. I live in Germany. I have been dreaming of making a small drone that I could fly for a long time. Unfortunately, most existing devices of this type are very expensive. They cannot be purchased by an ordinary person. I was very impressed with your project. You have inspired me to start working towards my own drone. I do not yet have sufficient knowledge in this area. Would you be so kind as to advise me on the initial electronic components for such a drone. I mean motors, controllers, etc.

I will be very grateful for your help.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards

Hi Vova,

I assume you are talking about small drones (not eVTOLs).

The first step to be familiarized with this technology is to buy a "pre-made" frame, such as these ones: https://www.racedayquads.com/collections/frames.

Then, you need to choose a flight controller. I advise you to look for one that runs with an open-source software (such as Ardupilot). I personaly like the Pixhawk4 (http://www.holybro.com/product/pixhawk-4/). They have combos that include the GPS and powerboard, which are necessary.

Then you have to buy the ESC's (https://www.racedayquads.com/search?type=product&q=motors**), which are the controller for the motors. By the way, I advise you to start with just 4 motors (https://www.racedayquads.com/search?type=product&q=motors**).

Then you by the Lipo battery, compatible with the load demanded by all motors (https://www.racedayquads.com/search?type=product&q=motors**).

You also need…
